#12DaysofGiving Campaign Takes Precision Frac to Downtown Seattle
On the fifth day of Giving, Precision Frac and Karmic Energy donated $5,000 to the Downtown Emergency Services Center — an emergency shelter for homeless adults living with behavioral health disorders in Seattle, Washington.
DESC opened its doors in 1979, not just offering shelter, but working to end homelessness among Seattle’s most vulnerable people: the mentally ill.
This fantastic nonprofit doesn’t just provide a safe shelter for the homeless in one of its ten apartment buildings, it also integrates clinical services and supportive housing that allows men and women to reclaim their lives, helping them reach their full potential.
In addition to its housing and clinical services, DESC recently launched a new program that provides an alternative to the local jail for homeless citizens with mental disabilities. DESC helps those facing minor legal infractions to get out of jail and get back on track to becoming productive citizens.
DESC has saved the City of Seattle an estimated $4 million, and its programs are being expanded to Denver, Colorado.
DESC’s Megan Mayes and Bill Hobson hosted CEO Jared Davis, President Trent Crawford, and Davis’ son Gavin during Precision Frac’s visit. Jared, Trent, and Gavin were truly inspired by DESC. Precision Frac hopes that its contribution will help DESC live its mission, serving the homeless and mentally ill of downtown Seattle.
